Livia Jatoba is a professor in the Polytechnic Institute (Instituto Politénico, IPRJ) at Rio de Janeiro State University (UERJ), located in the city of Nova Friburgo. Her field of work lies in the area of Transport Phenomena and she is part of the LABTRAN team, the Multiscale Modeling Laboratory and Particle Transport of IPRJ.
Her research field is numerical method development for computational fluid dynamics applications, ranging from low Mach compressible flow, multiphase flow, multicomponent modeling and turbomachinery. In recent years, she has focused on the development of a new method to solve the mass transfer of complex mixtures such as oil fractions. |
Livia completed her doctorate at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro with an expertise in numerical methods and code development for computational fluid dynamics applications in OpenFOAM®. She has been working with OpenFOAM® since 2008, including computational development applied to the compressible flow of complex mixtures, multicomponent diffusive models and multiphase flow.
